Hope all is well.
“Hope all is...” Begin typing it into an email and autocomplete will finish it. This oft-repeated sign-off serves as the launching point for Kara Mia Fenoglietto's conceptual soft sculpture installation, one that examines the disconnect between anxieties and appearances. At work, pleasantries supersede candor. Online, images of people living their best lives play out as cover for internalized fears.
Fenoglietto's oversized sculptures and garments explore this motif with the use of bold digital patterns and shape-distorting silhouettes. Her work is a call to introspection, and an ode to the existential fears that can unite just as they divide.
